At Honest Kitchen, we believe good food should make life easier – and a lot more delicious.
Karen spent over 20 years as a professional chef, working in kitchens across New Zealand and London. After some time away from the industry, her passion for food never left. In 2018, with her husband Rob, she opened Honest Kitchen in Whanganui – a small kitchen built on a big idea: to make fresh, wholesome meals for busy lives.

Six years on, Honest Kitchen has grown with its community. What started with a small cabinet of ready-to-go meals has become a local favourite, feeding families, workplaces, and subscribers every week.
The kitchen may be busier these days, but its heart hasn’t changed. Seasonal ingredients, trusted recipes, honest flavours. Nothing complicated – just good food, made with care.
